Doggy DNA

     Recently we ordered a Wisdom Panel DNA test for our dog Maple!  We are so excited about this and can't wait to find out which breeds show up on the test results.  According to the shelter where Maple was adopted, she is a Jack Russell mix.  Since Maple weighs in at about 50 lbs, we are looking forward to finding out what this massive Jack Russell is mixed with.

As Sweet As Maple Syrup

     This past April my husband Brandon and I celebrated our dog Maple's 1st birthday.  When we first adopted her from our local shelter, she was only 8 weeks old and about 4 lbs.  She was so tiny! We were told at the shelter that she was a Jack Russell mix.  

     After almost a year of raising our first puppy together, we can finally see the light at the end of the puppy tunnel.  Maple is a wonderful dog, and although she still chews up the occasional shoe, her sweet nature and affectionate personality make us quickly forget.  I wouldn't say we were completely unprepared to raise a puppy, but we definitely could have been a little more aware of what we were getting ourselves into!   That being said, adopting Maple, was one of the greatest decisions we ever made!
